The Teal Kestrel is the intersection of my dream bike, my favorite bird, and my favorite color! Yes, I might have what others consider a problem with teal. I don’t care; I love it.
Kestrel is the name of my 1993 BMW R100R, acquired in April 19, 2025. After owning several bikes, I had decided my unicorn would need to have a BMW boxer engine, a relatively low seat height (hello, 28″ inseam), and moderate to low weight. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a “Turkish Green” – the OEM color!! – BMW…. very quickly she became mine and the rest is history. Eventually I’ll post the story of getting her and link it here.
